Make 2009 an "Exceptional" Year
As the end of the year approaches, you’ve probably got a lot on your mind…the holidays, the economy, your personal finances, and your prospects for the coming year. There’s quite a bit of uncertainty in the air.
One of the best ways to regain control of your life is to take action. Get the skills you need to be successful in any situation where you rely on others to help you achieve your desired objective.
If you’re a manager, business owner or entrepreneur, chances are good that you spend a considerable amount of time directing and dealing with other people. As a result of those people-issues: a) you put in long hours just to keep your head above water, b) your family is surprised when you make it home in time for dinner or show up at your child’s game or recital and/or c) you have given up on exercise or hobbies because you’re just too mentally and physically exhausted at the end of the day.
These are just some of the common complaints I kept hearing from my clients. The truth is: we all rely on someone else (at some point) to help us achieve our goals. Whether it’s employees, vendors, contractors, virtual assistants or potential clients the more effectively we are able to deal with other people the more likely we are to succeed (at work and at home).
At the same time, we are seldom if ever taught these interaction and people-management skills. So, we rely on “trial and error” which is often painful for us and the other people involved.
Rather than wasting all that time and energy on making mistakes, what if you could get some simple, road-tested strategies that can get you from where you are now to where you want to be in the shortest time possible? Would that be of interest to you? How about:
- Less overtime – spend more time with family and friends
- Lower turnover – save time and money by getting and keeping the right people on your team
- More career advancement opportunities – grow your business and/or get promoted
- Recognition for a job well done – from your boss, customers, and peers
- Higher job satisfaction – be confident in your abilities to handle challenges, enjoy your job again
- Higher morale – less frustration and negative health consequences due to stress
If any of these results sound appealing, stay tuned for a big announcement in January.
